The Belief System Running the Show (Mine Was Set Before Age 10)

Hi Reader,

Yesterday I spoke to a room full of entrepreneurs about how to play bigger and achieve success without it crushing you in the process.

There was one line from the talk that people were still texting me about on my drive home... πŸ‘‡

Read that twice. Whichever path you're on, the days look identical from the outside. The difference is what's happening underneath.

I've worked with well over 100 founders, I've spoken to thousands of people, and I've interviewed 5 billionaires on my podcast. And what I've learned is that success is not what most people think it is.

It's not talent. It's not luck. It's not even the degrees we think we all need.

It's the belief systems running the show underneath (the ones you don't even notice) and whether you're disciplined enough to take responsible action and own all the outcomes, not just the ones that make you look good.

Here's the story I shared during my speech yesterday that so many of us relate to:

When I was about 10 years old, I was at my mom's workplace reading a science magazine, when her boss looked over and said:

"Don't worry about that, honey. Your mom got married at 18, and so did your sister. What makes you think you'll be different?"

I didn't have the words for it then. But I remember exactly how it felt... like someone had reached into my future and quietly closed a door before I even got there.

That man put a lid on me before I was 10 and without me realizing it, an internal ceiling had formed.

He wasn't trying to hurt me... he just believed the story he was telling. But every year since then I tried to prove him wrong, until I realized he probably never thought about me at all in decades.

That's the thing about ceilings... sometimes someone else puts them there. And the real question isn't whether it happened to you. It's whether you're still honoring a lid that was never yours to keep.

If you're building something right now (a business, a brand, a bigger version of yourself) ask yourself what internal ceiling you have, and what belief systems are running in the background.

The desire in your heart didn't get put there by accident.

Make it count.

With Gratitude,

This Is Your Sign to Shatter The Ceiling

I help purpose-driven leaders shatter their internal ceilings and build new belief systems around what's actually possible for them. Whether that looks like:

  • Landing a TEDx talk and developing the message only you can say.
  • Launching a podcast that turns your voice into a platform.
  • Getting seen on TV through my partner stations and networks.

...reply to this email and let's talk. I'd love to help you shatter old belief systems about what's possible and step into your next level!
